Seru

     Enlightened Bushi 

Story:

     The man who was Seru prior to his exaltation no longer matters. That life is over and gone.

     Seru's exaltation... changed him. For him, Creation is a different place than once it was. While Seru can, at times, appear to be jaded and sardonic in demeanor, his countenance only masks a deep drive to be worthy of his exaltation. While he doesn't fully understand what it is that has happened to him, he does understand that the exaltation has bestowed upon him powers of Essence the likes of which he had never before imagined. More than anything, he seeks the mastery of that Essence.

     Seru is something of a swordsman. As an exalt, he continues to honor the way of the sword as he did as a mortal. His exaltation has also kindled in him a desire to study sorcery. While he does not have Essence of sufficient magnitude for sorcery, he seeks out lore and artifacts that may enlighten him in the deepest study of Essence manipulation.

Appearance:

        Seru's appearance screams 'man of the desert.' He stands just above average height, and his build is just on the emaciated side of lean. His rough brown skin holds not a spare ounce of water; owing to his youth in deserts of the far South. With his well-defined muscles, his build affects both strength and frailty.

        Garbed in well-worn travelers' clothes, nothing about Seru's appearance is especially threatening. His clothing is very loose and obviously well-used. A black cloth shawl covers his shoulders and most of his black shirt. His shirt and matching black pants are made of some thick but airy cloth. Soft-soled patched boots attest to a great deal of time spent walking Creation. Seru's arms are bare as they extend from the shawled shoulders, save for the bracers wrought in black leather and traced in gold about his wrists. A dark red tattered cloak flashes in the wind. His long black hair is mostly tied down by a black headband; long tails swaying with the wind.

        A long, thin scar crosses Seru's right eye; running vertically from his forehead to his jaw line. Seru wears no visible armor, and carries no visible weapons.

Hooks for Seru:

• Sword Fighting: Seru is something of a samurai, and has some skill with a sword.
• Introduction to Being an Exalt: Seru is a fresh-faced solar exalt.  He has yet to encounter any other celestial exalts, and doesn't understand what all the exaltation means.  Feel free to show him the ropes.
• Sorcery: Seru is not yet a sorcerer, but he has powerful aspirations... once he grows in power and knowledge, he's going to be a serious sorcerer
  • Obtaining Lore: Fighting his way into tombs and caves to find ancient sorcerous lore is always a go for Seru
• Essence: More than anything, Seru seeks a mastery over Essence.  Lore and Occult doings surrounding the workings of Essence are always good.
