Ledaal Tarvek

The Dragoon of Wind

Ledaal Tarvek is a man of many places. For 65 years he has traveled Creation. It has been fifteen years since he last set foot on the Blessed Isle. Five years before that, and ten before that. His home in the Blessed Isle lays untouched and barely furnished, little more than an abode away from home for what servants of his still remain there. Tarvek has been to the four corners of Creation, and even now seeks his prize in the lands of high adventure.

Sailing across the high seas of the West in his youth, he slew pirates by the hundreds, rescued fair damsels for rich Satraps, and amassed treasure so vast his ships hobbled home to spend it all. Venturing into the deepest heart of the East, Tarvek's band of knights crusaded against the beastmen, rode with the Horselords of the plains, and both sacked and defended keeps by the dozen. In the frozen North Tarvek did battle in the air with the Courts of Air for supremacy of the Element. Eventually he took the field against the great Air Elemental Vesa, winning her love and her spear.

Now Tarvek braves the blazing wastelands of the South, his home of Stormwind Cove little more than a fishing village, and his headquarters an ancient monastary of Terrestrial Exalted now overgrown with vines and moss. But Tarvek knows something that those who passed by the village either never bothered or never cared to uncover: the monastary holds a secret.

The Priory of Elemental Dragoons

The Priory of Elemental Dragoons holds the secret lore necessary to bind the mutated Tyrant Lizards in the southern jungles and forests to one's will. The event is known as the Accession of the Blood, referring to the Tyrant Dragons themselves taking on the added prestige of a Dragonblooded rider. The supplicant rider must do battle with the dragon, using only his strength, charms, and stamina to aid him. If the rider is deemed unworthy, he is eaten.

But, should a rider prove himself worthy and drive a dragon to admit it can fight no more, it will bond with him, becoming an loyal ally until the end of either the rider or the dragon's life.

The Priory itself is a loose grouping of three manses, consisting of the Priory House, the Chapel, and the Dragon Paddocks. All are shield from wind, rain, and the unbearable heat of the South.

Recent Happenings:

Following the successful defense of Chiaroscuro and the summoning of the Court of Winds at the final battle, Tarvek returned to the Priory of the Elemental Dragoons. There he continues to oversee the training and discipline of a new crop of knights. Though no new Elemental Dragoons have stepped forward since Pillar of Mercy claimed the Lady of Adamant, Tarvek remains hopeful for the future of his order.

Tarvek has begun courting the Lady Akashara of House Cathak, after House Ledaal staged an attempted assault upon the Cove and the Priory. Tarvek single-handedly drove off the Ledaals and renounced his affilitation with that house. With the Royal Warstrider 'Walkure' (pronounced Valkyrie) at his command, Tarvek has begun calling in his scattered holdings from across Creation to consolidate his position.
