Log: Who Ordered Flowers

Page history last edited by Koal 15 years, 6 months ago

Players: Lord Flowers, Ledaal Kyrie, Mnemon Koal

Lord Flowers attempts to gain access to the Logos archives.

"Sorry, but that isn’t an acceptable answer. I want specific plans, as in what they're doing right now.." Kyrie says rather annoyed. The pair are in her office as she's surrounded by multiple air elementals, and she would have sent one of the elemental servants to get Koal.

Lord Flowers seems to be cleaning his teeth with his tongue "How the hell would I know, I can’t even set foot in his domain" he says appearing to ignore Kyrie as he picks at his teeth

Mnemon Koal 's boots are heard clopping a long the hallway long before he reaches the office. Luckily, for good or bad, he has managed to complete the History of Magic paper, which he won't go back to with all the excess preparations to be made with the 23rd for diplomatic trips to Calhar, Cherak, and Lookshy. Confident and at peace, his features frozen in a statuesque non-committed expression, Koal marches into Kyrie's office wondering what the summons was about.

"I see, so you really don’t know much then.." she says, shaking her head while running her fingers through her hair. She hrmms for a few moments, wrinkling her nose as she takes a deep breath. "What do you know then?"

Lord Flowers gives a sinister look "A lot of things you don’t" he says very amused with himself, returning the stare along with a wide toothy grin..

Mnemon Koal sets the papers in a tray and pauses, calm and serene, his face a mask of granite, waiting to be acknowledged and sensing tension in the room.

"You want to deal with this, Koal? This is someone who knows about the Deathlord, Walker in Darkness and his minions. He doesn’t want to be very cooperative.." Kyrie says, sighing softly.

"But I’ve answered every question" he says with feigned innocents before long his grin return as he looks at Koal, he runs his tongue across his teeth "Ill be frank, Lord Walker would never trust me with anything worth knowing, but neither am I a spy, I am simply here for the exchange of information, nothing more" he says as his grin disappears.

Mnemon Koal looks the man over. Then turns to Kyrie. "Simply from what I'm overheard, this man is searching for something which he thinks you have. It's obviously a negotiation for trade, but it's clear that he wouldn't be here at this academy if he weren't the one truly in need of information...though if he has any information of value to trade it would be hard to say. None of the current operations of our forces involve a Deathlord, except maybe the Mask of Winters if rumor holds true. What is he trying to get from you?

"He wants access to the archives. I will not allow it especially if he works for a Deathlord, unless he gives me something more concrete. Either way, I've placed him under citizen's arrest.." Kyrie says matter of factly as she looks over towards Flower. "Give us something worth this time, lest I turn you over to the Immaculate Monks."

You say, "You're right. This is an Anethema issue." Koal says, "It is good that you summoned me. If you have any doubts we should simple subdue him and bring him to the temple where I guarantee the monks will get whatever information he has.""

Lord Flowers smacks his lips some "I have no interest in politics of any kind, I simply wish, if nothing else, to read some of your historical books, or perhaps information pertaining to the arts of essence. What im willing to share is my knowledge of the dead, as well as my knowledge of astronomy" he then smiles broadly at Koal, exposing his rotten teeth

"He's a necromancer. I suppose.." and she hrmms for a few moments, wrinkling her nose as she runs her fingers through her hair. She looks towards Koal for a few moments. "Get me something concrete on the Deathlord, Walker in Darkness, and you have my word that I will give you access to our archives."

"You are an administrator here Kyrie, and in truth I doubt this man has any strategic information of interest to Greyfalls security. I leave it to you to decide how to proceed." Koal says."  Mnemon Koal remains completely focused on the issue at hand, a wall of focus undaunted by the petty quirks of Lord Flowers’s personality.

"Well I can tell you this much, his realm is horribly cursed and mortals die if they step foot on it" he says with a horrible grin as he licks his hand and adjusts his hair a bit "and I’m no necromancer by the way."

"Even I knew that already. I want something more concrete. You want access to these archives, give me something more." Kyrie says as she gives a dismissive wave to the air elementals holding him. "You are free to go. Come back when you have something of worth to share."

Mnemon Koal remains stoic. It is obvious this interview is at an end and the man hasn't betrayed any anathemic connections worth impeding him over.

Lord Flowers "I’ll keep a extra careful look out for your star, darling" he says with a wicked grin as he wets his lips hungrily and stands up. Before leaving he stops right in front of Koal his face inches from Koal’s, he snaps his teeth in a feigned biting gesture before heading out, strolling down the hall way, with a skip in his step.

Mnemon Koal turns to Kyrie, a granite eyebrow raised. "It is far easier in a way to trust those who are obviously disturbed like that man, than those like Tant who whisper sweet poison. Such an individual may actually be able to provide you with such information from the world of the dead,...but there is always a price for such things.”

"He thinks his art is special. It is not.." Kyrie says matter of factly as she runs her fingers through her hair. "We..have texts that allow one to follow horrible rituals, but you would be declared anathema in an instant."

"I can only hope such knowledge is used to prevent atrocity instead of promote it." Koal muses. "Education is not as objective an exercise as some would like to believe. Hrath reminds me of this routinely, to help me remained focused and in tune with my faith, which I believe is a strength and not a weakness. I study with a purpose in mind and a place in society that waits for me. My instincts say that that man wishes only to acquire knowledge for personal power.""

"If you are going to be a sorcerer Koal, your faith will be surely tested. My own studies at the Heptagram challenged my own over and over again.." Kyrie admits ruefully, as well, she's not exactly a devout member of the Host, unlike her husband. Odd, that.

Mnemon Koal seems unfazed. "As Brother Chu often says, "The spirit of the texts is to the soul as the texts themselves are to the flesh. The soul is what follows the path of enlightenment." Teach objectively and let us find our own conclusions and there shouldn't be a problem, that was the hope for the course as I recall."

"Yes, you will draw your own conclusions, but it will still challenge your faith. Especially if you seek access to the inner most archives.." Kyrie says cryptically, sighing a little as she crosses her arms across her chest.

"You worry too much about the ephemeral issues which will always plague people through the ages. I will concentrate on things that are more concrete and straightforward. Since I'm already here, I will take some notes from the reference books in the library. Good luck with your projects Professor.," Koal gives a formal bow and leaves the office...although more informal than before, old habits die hard."
