Log: In the Sky of Nexus

Page history last edited by Tsangun 15 years, 6 months ago

Players Present: Mnemon Amatin, Silent, Silver Knight

Throughout the city of Nexus and for a time prior, two Fair Ones had hunted the Sidereal Silver Knight. Finally, Silver Knight decided to make his stand in the Firewander District against the two assassins.

The Firewander District was for once calm on this particular day, as the sun began to fade across the horizon, his eye casting itself away from Creation in all of her faded glory. Traders began to close up shops, and mercenary companies started into their final evening marches before lights out. A calm breeze blew through the town, though it had almost a silken feeling against the skin, as if it were not wind but gossamer that was being drawn against all of the inhabitants of Nexus.

Silver Knight lands on the rooftop, sending a short plume of dust and debris upwards as the heavy boots of the Gunzosha armor strike it. He glances behind him at his pursurers, and draws his daiklave now that he's out of the Firewander's main Wyld zone, readying himself for battle.

They were two, as far as Silver Knight knew, leaping through the air for the Sidereal as they crashed between walls, rooftops, and other objects, sending debris raining down upon the citizens below. The two beautiful Fair Folk, every ring of bell sending the scream of children humming through the air, crashed upon the rooftop near Silver Knight in a flurry of roofing tiles and cracked timbers. One was laughing incessantly as they came down. One held a gossamer blade at the ready, while the other's gossamer bow was already notched after the last arrow it had sent toward the Sidereal while he was in the air.

The archer cataphractoi was quick in the up-take. Before his fellow assassin or Silver Knight could act upon landing on the rooftop, the nocked arrow was levelled upon Silver Knight, releasing the deadly arrow upon his opponent. The broadhead screamed through the air, hissing with the horrible nature of the Wyld, aiming to plummet into the Sidereal's chest.

The second assassin, as the arrow shot past him, was on his approach toward Silver Knight, feet crushing the timber supports of the building beneath him, throwing up baked roof tiles that fell upon the heads of those ignorant enough to still remain below. The gossamer blade, whirling and reflecting beautifully in its graceful movements, slashes forth for Silver Knight's torso, the beautiful Fair Folk twirling through the slash in a second slash at the victim's right thigh.

Silver Knight flicks his weapon, severing the crimson strands of fates to make the attacks look clumsy and amateurish, seeming to parry them with the starmetal weapon in a near casual manner, motes of scarlet star dust swirling around the reaper daiklave.

Silver Knight moves, positioning himself so that the swordsman is between the archer and himself, and swings Lost Memories in a graceful arc upwards, a harmonious song emanating from the amythyst threads on the blade as it sings through the air. "What are you here for?!" He shouts.

The archer's face twisted in annoyance as, suddenly, his next shot was impeded inbetween his ally and the Sidereal. Taking a running leap off the roof that ripped cobblestone from structure, he twirled in mid-air, notching one arrow and firing it across at Silver Knight, a second one soon to follow. The Fair Folk would land upon another building with a horrible crash of materials the next tick.

The second Fair Folk is knocked back, gossamer boots failing to hold him on the roof. It began to descend, first slamming against the side of one building, causing cobblestone to crush inwards, falling forward and narrowly catching on a window ledge. It began to pull itself up, starting to again scale the building.

Silver Knight tumbles backwards a few yards, saving himself by twisting with the impact and flipping onto another rooftop, barely able to accomplish this, causing bits of roofing to crash downwards below. He idly wonders what sort of trouble this is causing below, before turning quickly around to face the archer across the rooftops. He's thankful the armor is healing up the nasty bruise, the relatively minor wound healing quickly from the Vitality Boosting Subsystems.

He makes the blade's amythyst strings sing a song of endings as he expertly slashes it towards the archer, plucking along the strands of fate to deliver the blow at range, castemark glittering faintly under the Gunzosha helmet as the essence-fueled melody is delivered to the Raksha archer.

The archer easily shifts to the side, dancing backwards a few yards, those horrible bells continuing their child-like scream. Bow dropped and knife drawn from its sheathe, the Fair Folk comes forth, the weapon of gossamer coming forth as the creature whispered into Silver Knight's ear. "You know why the Lady Queen sent us," hissed the creature.

The second assassin manages to get his hand on top of the roof, climbing back up. Gossamer blade clenched tightly in one hand, he came forth at a full run, blade slashing upwards for Silver Knight's side. The gossamer plate of the Fair Folk is billowing in all of its deadly beauty now, as the blow is levied against Silver Knight. There are screams from below as more debris falls, scattering carts and destroying market stalls.

Silver Knight's castmark glows green under the helmet as he severs the battle lines again. The blade sings its violet song of the lost as the blade itself glows crimson and trails stardust, the Sidereal's anima flaring green around the armor as the Mark of Jupiter burns verdantly through the helmet, causing the distinctive silver shimmer of the Gunzosha armor to stop and become dull grey luster.

Silver Knight pulls three precisely aimed attacks at the swordsman in an attempt to end what he percieves as the biggest threat of the moment, harmonizing the blows with crimson-tinged essence. "The Queen is dead." He intones.

The first slash stuns the Fair Folk, who collapses back, readying its sword for the next strike - but the crimson essence burns true, ripping through the assassin's defenses with a horrible slash across its torso, the screams of the Wyld itself echoing, those bells echoing with the sounds of children's nightmares in their last cry. The final blow rends the assassin dead, collapsing and falling from the roof. The archer for just a moment hesitated, but then came in with his knife, the gossamer weave attempting to plant into Silver Knight's Gunzosha armor, and deal a mortal blow to the Celestial.

Silver Knight turns aside to avoid the rushing assassing, bringing the heavy daiklave to bear. "Where should I send your remains?" He says as he swings the weapon at the back of the Fair One.

The Fair Folk cried out in laughter as it was struck, barely managing to keep hold as the reaper daiklave dug into its back. It came in at Silver Knight again, the knife cutting towards Silver Knight's arm, and stabbing in again for a hit against the Exalt's chest. The archer was trying to keep in as close as possible as it hacked and cut at his opponent. The deliberate force of each foot against the top of the roof continued to send cobblestone and baked roof tiles raining down against the citizens of Nexus. In fact, by this point, the roof timbers had been so splintered and destroyed, the wall integrity so damaged, that the building was shaking, even on the verge of collapse.

Silver Knight dodges the blows with grace and style, and then brings the daiklave to bear again, gritting his teeth and aiming to cut across the Fair One's torso.

"How many of you are there?!" He shouts as his blow comes around.

"Enough," hissed the archer, narrowly spinning away from that reaper daiklave that had cut its fellow in twain. Shoulder to shoulder, moving at speeds nearly too fast for the average mortal to comprehend, the two combatants continue their back-and-forth, the Fair One again attempting to plant his knife into Silver Knight's body, this time near the base of his spine. "You may run, child of the Stars, but we will find you."

A running Water Exalted comes up to the scene, having spotted the flare and sensing trouble from nearer the Gate where he was doing some business. In mid-run, the Exalted does pull his manthresher, though. The Jade weapon glittering as he grips it around the chain for the moment. Looking upwards again, he looks towards the walls around it before he leaps upwards. Landing on one window sill, he backflips to another wall and pushes off up to the rooftop quickly as he lands and grips the weapon to see what is going on this time. Silent's arrival, of course, is definitely aggressive and he's definitely looking at the two after a moment.

Silent considers as he looks at the scene before him. Well, his choice is obvious. Fellow Exalt needs help, although that's one hell of a weird Anima. He moves forward as he starts to spin the Manthresher, grabbing one of the sticks before stepping up to hopefully waylay the Fair One from a blind side and give the stranger some help. Not to mention make the Fair One have to deal with one person on each side. Something that will hopefully give them an advantage.

The Fair One ducked aside, taking off into a full run across the rooftop, rolling down - its hands dropped the knife and took the grip of the dropped Gossamer Blade, a bent knee pushing off with an inhumane amount of force, cracking the last timber of the roof's structural support, landing on a nearby building with a horrible crash of timbers and roof tiles. Then, it turned around, those beautiful features twisting into horrible laughter as the building began to collapse under its lost structural integrity. Those in the streets began to scream.

Silver Knight jumps into the air, following the Archer in an arc, trailing green starlight from his anima as he does so. When he lands, he tumbles forward along the roof and towards the Archer, and brings his sword up in a powerful slashing motion, sending up a great spray of dust and clay tile roofing as the massive blade trails along the roof.

Silent runs and leaps after the two, quickly circling as far as he can around the Fair One and starting his manthreshers moving again. The weapon is designed to defend, after all, and his first task? Use some of his own Essence towards an attack. Fueling the Essence, the jade weapon begins to spin faster before he launches an attack out.

The Fair One recoils are the Reaper Daiklave's strike, but manages to stay standing. It is now armed much more heavily, however, with the gossamer blade of its former ally. Coming in close, the weapon slashes forth at Silver Knight once, the creature coming in for an upwards stab towards the Sidreal's spine, bringing a final slash in against Silent once the beautiful Wyld creature is free.

Silver Knight is knocked backwards on his butt from the blow, blood leaking out from the joint where he was hit. He gets back up and charges the Fair One, dictating to fate that this will be an auspicious blow, aiming for one true strike which will cause great harm to the Fair one.

"DIE." comes the singular gutteral sound from under the helmet as the starlight emanating from the Sidereal flares bright green, the symbol of Jupiter burning intensely.

The Fair One's chest is ripped open by that strike, the haunting of the Wyld visible in the gaping wound. Knocked back by the sheer force of the blow, the creature is instantly killed, being knocked off a building and through a neighboring window, into a random suite. With injured people crying in the streets, turned grey from the dust of the building's collapse, an otherwise uneasy silence fills the area.
