Log: A Seaside Chat

Page history last edited by Sxoa 14 years, 6 months ago

'Obsidian Falcon's travels have brought him near the bordermarches of the far east once again. He's been here before, but this time something is distinctly different. The omnipresent forest feels somehow...breezier. And the air has a slight tang of salt to it. When a seabird lands on the path in front of him he knows something is definitely awry...'.

Falcon is always ready with telemetry equipment. He calls it his tri-corder, though he doesn't really know why he chose that name. The scholar uses it to take Essence readings and geomantic readings of the area to figure out what's going on, wandering around the entire area trying to find the source of this disturbance.

'The essence readings are absolutely strange for this region of the bordermarches. Vastly more water essence seems to be present than would be normal. And while granted, it is a region influenced by the Wyld, normally the elemental poles keep the areas relatively thematically consistent.

Falcon's wandering however soon break the tree line and he finds himself standing on thin beach that stretches off out of sight in either direction. In front of him stretches a vast empty expanse of water as far as his eyes can see. Nearer the shore he sees tree still popping up out of the water, but in the distance he sees a figure in full plate riding a cirrus skiff slowly melting the trees around him into liquid water. Essence surges around the person, marking them clearly for all to see as a Night Caste Solar, though the figures features are completely obscured by their flaring anima banner.'

Falcon takes off his suit jacket, vest and shirt to reveal his torso covered with chains which soon unravel into writhing barbed chains of doom. However, instead of using them to attack anything he dives into the water and uses them to aid his swimming by acting as propellers. "Ho there," he calls out to the man, "What's going on here? Why is this area all... watery?"

'Startled for a moment, as if he had been concentrating too intently the work at hand the figure lowers the skiff down to the water level. He (and it becomes apparent that the shrouded figure is a he after he starts speaking) offers Falcon a hand to help pull him up onto the cloud with a friendly "Hello there stranger! My name's Resplendent Wave."

As soon as he notices the chains though his manner becomes somewhat more cautious. He obviously knows what they mean and what kind of beings manifest such things. "Um...I hope we can continue this in a civilized fashion. I'm not really looking for a fight..."'.

Once aboard the skiff, his chains wrap tightly around his torso like a shirt and he chuckles, "I was just using them to help me swim. I'm not looking for a fight." He extends a hand and says, "I'm Obsidian Falcon, pleased to meet you. May I ask what's going on here? If you know that is."

'While Falcon can't see the man's face, his stance visibly relaxes and his voice certainly takes on more smiling tone. "Oh yes, of course. He looks over towards the shore and spotting Falcon's darker clothes on the white sand directs the small cloud over to the beach to retrieve them. Along the way he bends down, scooping up some water and spools it out into a terry cloth towel which he hands to his companion.

"I'm reshaping the Wyld here. I'm building a new ocean that will be seat of my new kingdom. Oh right, I'm also going to be building a kingdom here once I'm done with the land to support it." Wave settles the cloud down on the sand next to Falcon's clothing but doesn't step off the skiff himself to prevent it from vanishing.

'.

Falcon allows one of his chains to peel from his body and retrieve his clothes without descending from the cloud and notes, "I see, well I'm very interested in reshaping Creation as well. Though likely in a different manner as you. I'm more of a necromancer you see, so I specialize in destroying things. But don't worry, I won't cast any of my spells here. You have my word that I will not commit acts of aggression against you or your fiefdom."

'You have my thanks then good sir. I see now that my prejudices were misplaced! While I have some interest in reshaping Creation, what I long for more is force order into the howling winds of the Wyld. Spit into the teeth of chaos and bend it to my Will, make it usable and prosperous!" He turns a sideways glance, most of which is lost on Falcon due to his shroud, and says "Of course death cults and the like are fine. I have nothing but respect for the deceased. However much of the first generation of my kingdom will lack true souls, and thus will be largely outside your interest I imagine."

He ponders for a moment before absentmindedly continuing, "Though I suppose if you're a necromancer of no small talent, I could create empty bodies for you to animate. Yes... perhaps we could work together. You see I worry that my efforts will crushed before they have a chance develop. To west as you are no doubt aware lies the Vir Sidus empire. I have seen how recently they expand and expand, gobbling up anyone smaller than themselves and subjugating their neighbors. Perhaps with our powers combined though we could strike a savage blow against them? That would certainly be in your interest and my own I think..."

Falcon grins, if he grinned any wider the top of his head would fall off. "I have nothing but hate towards Vir Sidus," he says with maniacal glee, "I often fantasize of destroying it. If you truly wish to shatter it, then I will be more than happy to assist you and I'm sure my associate would be as well."

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “As an aside, I likely have to leave in a bit.”

-= OOC =- Set Qaan Ra says, “no worries. We can make plans separately for what you need shaped, and I need the locations of the geomantic relays that feed Chronopolis. Something your spy network could easily supply if its not already public knowledge”

Resplendent Wave seems totally unconcerned with making deals with the devil, or in this case the undead, as long as it advances his plans. He strikes Falcon as perhaps being of a "morally ambiguous" nature.

"Well that is good then! I can offer you what I can pull out of the Wyld, though it lacks a certain amount of stability.  You and your associates are welcome within my borders at anytime as long as you keep the peace, though I must tell you now that most of the kingdom is going to be underwater. Yes my friend, I think we shall cut the heart out of the dragon and watch its death throes."

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “Tell me the location of the secret rebel base!”

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “Oh we have Chronopolis well mapped out”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “I feel like Vader!

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “well that’s convenient then! Do you know if the relays A-H are inside the city?))'.

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “I'm pretty sure the city only has one manse actually with the feeders being outside.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “excellent...just as I hoped'.

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “We need to talk to staff to make sure first though.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “right right, but just any of them?  Or who would be knowledgeable/the authority on the matter?”

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “I think we'd have to talk to Dorkadelt or Ten since they're the mechanics STs.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “righto”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “We know how to take out the Infinite Spiral though. But I'm not allowed to tell how.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “sadness ;-; thats fine. As a starting character my help there would likely be limited.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “hopefully I can just make it easier by wiping out the relays.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “How much xp do you have banked?”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “oh with 9mm like 70 at this point I think”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “but I'm saving it up so that she can actually do interesting things. A ton of it I'm having to spend because the Eclipse/Moonshadow/Fiend generalist power was completely removed, so I have to get Integrity up to five and get that charm”

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “Ah.”

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “Yeah I'm eventually going to get that Charm too.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “'you're Daybreak right?'.

-= OOC =- Obsidian Falcon says, “Yup.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “Anywho, I have to go. Food time.”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “Thanks for the scene...”

-= OOC =- Resplendent Wave says, “thanks too, toodles!'.

Obsidian Falcon has disconnected.
