The Holy Empire of Zanshee

Zanshee is the god of rightous war and combat. He has managed to convince the people in his region to worship him exclusively, and has convinced them to expand his influence - by any means necessary. To do this, the god has armed and armored a fairly large military. They approach a village or town, preach the teaching of Zanshee, and if the town agrees to worship the God, build a temple. They then leave a priest and a small armed force of paladins to ensure the location stays loyal and trains new loyalists to defend and police the new worshippers. Surprisingly, those that join are treated well, as the young men and women who wish to go forth to spread the God's word and find the perfect death in glorious battle. Should a town or village refuse, they are generally attacked, and either destroyed to a man, or are captured and forced into slavery.

Currently there are numerous villages, eleven cities and the capital of Zanshee-tir under control of the rightous armies of Zanshee. They are all well defended, fed and even open trade with those who will trade with the nation are encouraged. This open trade allows them to spread the word in a more subtle matter. There is a military school, the High Scriptorium of Zanshee, that all officers and priests of the Holy Empire are required to attend, where Military Doctrine and the Word is drilled and taught to them. The God himself teaches once a week if he is not personally leading a conversion of a city, a mortal hero, or better still, an Outcaste Terrestrial. Any individuals from accross the world are permitted to attend this school, where they will be converted to Zanshee's worship if feasible.

As one can guess, their military is pretty large, but is currently spread thin thanks to Zanshee's agression. They are in a recruitment drive, and young men and women are being trained to fill the ranks and take the presure off the current military. The army is broken into two tier of troops: the Paladins, who are the professional soldiers, and the Faithful, who are little more than fanatics. The Faithful are the individuals who are typically looking for the towns that are in need of the divine word. At present, the Paladins are outnumbered by the Faithful almost two to one.

Zanshee himself has won over the servitude of three mortal heroes and two Outcaste, and the god himself is a match for most terrestrials.

Militarily Zanshee commands a very strong and vast Military. Comprised of four different branches: The Militia, the Army, the Paladins, and the Fanatics. The fact that Zanshee controls a vast amount of territory and has subjugated the nations before him means he has at his disposal 30,000 soldiers from the Army and Paladins. No known number exists to represent the Fanatics as they wax and wane, and the Militia comprises those willing to fight (Nearly all) of the Village, Town or city.
