Major deviations From canon as described in the Scavenger Lands sourcebook:
- The local dialect of Great Forks has a lot of prayer 'built in'. People habitually speak in flowery, 'prayerful' language.
Status
- ECONOMY: -
- The economic collapse of the east has caused the demand for slaves to diminish significantly
- The economic collapse of the east has caused the supply of slaves to increase greatly.
- The economic collapse of the east has caused demand for medicines to decrease significantly
- The economic collapse of the east has caused supply of medicines to increase greatly due to lack of export.
- The impact of this upon the economy of Great Forks is significant; these industries provided for a large amount of economic activity
- Orduin of the Tools has assisted Philokrates in creating a self-contained Prosperity-Enhancing Trade pattern amongst the refugee populations.
- Philokrates funded a wholesale renovation of the slave barracks on public funds, putting the treasury deep in the red, and under extremely dubious authority.
- QUALITY OF LIFE: +
- The influence of divine entities and Exalted have made life in Great Forks significantly better than many other locales currently
- The percieved quality of life that Great Forks citizens enjoy has created a flood of refugees that can exceed thousands in a week
- The reality of the situation for the refugees is that they do not, in fact, enjoy the Great Forks standard of living and have formed an 'underclass'
- GOVERNMENT:
- Solar Exalted are involved at high levels of government with undefined power and limitations
- Some of these Exalted have killed corrupt divinities that displeased them, or, mortal bandit lords.
- Due to the activites of the Exalted, banditry is still rampant but subdued to an extent from what it would otherwise be.
- While a majority would maintain these Exalted are 'sane', many remain concerned that they are unstable.
- Philokrates commanded a wholesale renovation of the slave barracks on public funds, putting the treasury deep in the red, and under extremely dubious authority.
Current Issues
- The Three embracing Solar Exalted as agents or peers; is this wisdom, or is it folly? Will they go mad?
- Do we 'close the gates', turning away further refugees or killing them outright?
- Major slavers owe outstanding debts to large mercenary companies based upon purchases of large numbers of slaves at obsolete rates.
- Walker and Darkness has refused to engage in diplomatic discourse, though he has stopped short of belligerence.
