The Men and Women who are above mortal standing in the Legions that are the might of the Vir Sidus Empire. Each is a dedicated warrior to the Empire, and a capable strategist in their own rights.

Dragon Blooded

Lady Captain Commander Cyranel Dawnblade: Sister of the Queen, General Dawnblade has served the royal family since before Darius's birth. She is an able swords-woman and an extraordinary tactician. (Some say almost as good as the Firebrand) She is an Air Caste Dragon Blooded who is quick witted and level headed. Rumors state that she and Cathak Zuriel are seen in each other's presence whenever the Cathak prince is in the Empire. Not surprisingly she is a follower of the Immaculate Faith.  Recently, General Dawnblade has given birth a child, rumour has it that Zuriel is the father.

Khilara: Also known as the Water Witch among the Empire troops and residents of her home, The Three Roots. She joined the Empire after Darius and her had a duel on the Shores of Three Roots lake. Darius spared her, offering his life after he defeated her if she would trust him and follow him. She agreed, and the convinced the three Roots to join peaceably with the Thousand Lakes. Currently she holds the rank of Captain and is in charge of the 13^th Ranger Dragon.

Lord Captain Cathak Mas: (PC) The powerful strategist for House Cathak has been placed in charge of the 2nd Legion and has taken his wingman, Teller, as his captain. Assigned to the 19th Command Dragon in particular, where Mas goes, his White Cloaks are surely nearby. For now, he has put Khilara and Teller in as his advisors in sorcery and other magical beings, heeding their advice in such areas and also incorporating them into his various strategies.

Li Shen Raikou: (PC)  A disowned member of House Tepet, graduated top of his class at the House of Ancient Stone, and survived a five year commission in the Vermillion Legion before being exiled to the East.  Known to wield Lightning Torment Hatchets and Jade armor taken as trophies from an outcaste who attempted to ambush him. He is assigned to the 18th as Captain.

Sarinzan Kodai: (PC) Outcast from the city of Lookshy, wanderer, secretly an assassin for the elite group called the Grass Spiders. Joined with his Essence Spider companion, Haquim, who is intelligent and also an essence user. Sarinzan Kodai and Haquim are Corsairs in the 18th Dragon under Raikou.

Enlightened Mortals

Octavius Dragoran: The Captain of the White Cloaks is a close personal friend of the Firebrand. He served with Warlord when his father died and helped him clean the land of bandits. Although he is a passable swordsman, he is more trained with spear or glaive and is trained in the Crimson Pentacle by Fourth Spear of Rage who enlightened him. As mentioned he holds the rank of Captain and is in charge of the 2^nd Infantry Dragon.

Galen Lakeshore: Another member of the White Cloaks and a spear fighter, he was trained by Fourth Spear of Rage in Crimson Pentacle and also enlightened. He holds the rank of Corsair and is attached to the 1^st Command Dragon and General Dawnblade.

Tomas Regar: A former White Cloak and childhood friend of Darius Firebrand, Tomas is holds the rank of Captain and is in command of the 10^th Marine Dragon. He is also trained in Crimson Pentacle by Fourth Spear of Rage. He left the White Cloaks not out of anger but to pursue a path along the river and as a marine.

Gauvain Taris: Another Mortal trained and enlightened by Fourth Spear of Rage, Gauvain is another Crimson Pentacle practitioner and a White Cloak. He holds the rank of Captain and is in command of the 8^th Heavy Infantry Dragon. He is known for his flaring tempers and rash headed decisions but can also be counted on to obey orders and get the job done.

Calin Dawnblade: The final of the five trained by Fourth Spear of Rage, Calin is Darius's cousin and is currently in charge of training new units for the Legion out of the Fortress in Lumaba. As such he holds the rank of Captain and is in charge of the Fortress itself and any units stationed there,

The God's Gifts to the Empire

Through negotion, Darius has managed to convince the War Gods of the Empire to have their children Serve in the Legions as officers. All those listed below are the God Blooded serving in the Legions.

Resplendent Orchid – A woman of great beauty, Orchid as she prefers to be called is the Daughter of the Thousand Lake's resident War God of War; Tyres. She holds the Ran of Captain and is in command of the 7^th Cavalry. A Superb wielder of the Slashing sword, she holds her troops to a strict code of conduct of honor on the field of battle. Slow to anger, she is brutally efficient in her roll as an officer of the Legions of Vir Sidus.

Jade Sickle – Commands the 4^th Infantry and holds the Rank of Captain. She is a woman of averages in appearance and stature, however she is highly intelligent and capable of spotting even the most hidden of traps. She leads her men by example and can usually be seen on the front line with her shield locked to the men next to her shouting orders and fighting with a fervor that spurs her men forward.

Roaring Storm – Hailing from Three Roots, Roaring Storm is the Brother of the Water Witch Khilara. He is in command of the 5^th Infantry. Unlike his sister who prefers ranged combat, he fights with a great axe, and a strength that makes most people pause. It is said that one swing of his axe will remove the front lines of any enemy.

Wind Aided Blade – Guides the 6^th infantry into the chaos of battle. He favors quick attacks or long distance engagements, relying on the Repeating Crossbows used by almost every soldier in the Legions.

Thundering Scholar – Coming from the Uzumaqua Spiral, Thundering Scholar can always be seen with a Book. Even in battle the book can be seen bulging from the pocket of a field pack, or his robes. Ink stains are this Captain's best friend. Highly intelligent, Thundering Scholar is a highly educated God Blood who relies on outwitting his opponent. Ironically, he is not the child of a war god. His knowledge of tactics, and the ability to use them on the field of combat come from the fact that his parentage can be attributed to the God of Martial Arts. He is in command of the 11^th Infantry.

Burning River – The Daughter of a War God of Naval combat, Burning River not only fits in with the Marines of the 20^th Marine Dragon, the Marines will do anything this hard ass woman tells them. Not out of fear but out of respect. She was born hard, she lives hard, and expects her Marines to BE hard. So far they haven't let her down.

Shining Zodiac – The War God of Lumaba remembered well his debt to the Empire for curing it of the plague and the Bandits of the past. So when Vir Sidus asked for the sons and daughters to serve in the Legions, without hesitation Gytharis bade his son to join the Legions. Thus Zodiac finds himself serving in his Father's name, in command of his Province's Dragon of Troops, the 12^th Heavy infantry.

Mad Turtle – Commanding the 17^th Cavalry Dragon mad Turtle is not what one would call mad, so much as... Unique. His view on tactics is make up new ones. The old ones are just what the enemy expects. So if you use a new one, they won't know how to counter it. That's not tosay he does it every time, but he is known for coming up with a new tactic just off the top of his head at random moments.

Vicious Hammer – The 16^th Infnatry is commanded by Captain Vicious Hammer. Or Captain Hammer as the troops call him. He is a man of honor and a bit of a glory seeker. However he treats his troops well (Even if they are beneath him) and acts with the greater good of the Empire.

Honorable Grasshopper – Cunning, patient, and resourceful. These three traits earned Honorable Grasshopper the rank of Captain and command of the 9^th Special Forces Dragon. If it needs doing, Captain Hopper, as his men call him will see it done. Efficiently and as soon as his men get there.
