Cathak Septus

Most Honorable House Elder,

It is with some pleasure that I am able to report that, despite the vagaries of the current unpleasantness gripping the Realm, we have managed to finally find someone who can be spared from the defenses of the main island to deal with the demands of the Legion based in the South. The Dynast in question is, per your requirements, certified by the instructors of the Heptagram as quite skilled in the arts of Healing and, to a lesser degree, in the Arts of War. He has been dispatched with all haste to the command of the Legion and the Satrap. May the Dragons Bless Our Ventures. In addition, as the young Dynast has not yet made a name for himself, this will prove, in our humble opinion, a chance for him to properly make a name for himself.

With all due reverence,

Background

The subHouse of Cathak Sasuro was founded when that worthy Dynast, blessed to Exalt as an Air Caste, made his name and his fortune with the aid of his sworn brotherhood, adventuring and exploring across Creation, retrieving relatively large caches of artifacts and riches lost to ancient ruins and leveraging them into personal power and wealth. His bloodline flourished, and while it lacked the same rate of Exaltation that the main families of House Cathak had, Cathak Sasuro being of Patrician stock. Still, he has every reason to believe that, eventually, his own bloodline will become stronger. The slowly growing rate of Exaltation among his descendants, Cathak Septus among them, seems to bear some proof that the long-lived Dragonblood's hopes may come true.

Septus is the second of several children, and the great-grandson of Sasuro. His mother, an Air-aspected scholar and author of some note, never quite had her grandfather's wanderlust. Septus, however, has inherited it in full, showing far more interest in machinery and ancient technology than he has in the latest Dynastic gossip. Once he had taken his Second Breath and breezed through his primary schooling, absorbing information like a sponge, his mother, in consultation with her relatives and her grandfather, made the decision to send the young Air-aspect to the Heptagram.

At the Heptagram, Septus continued his previous pattern of life, preferring to concentrate on matters of the mind over matters of a more social bent. Still, he was intelligent, he was calm, and he was usually willing to help another student with their own research, so he was fairly popular with his fellow students and instructors. He had some interest in everything, but his particular interest was sparked by the medicine, the occult, and the interweaving of the two into biomagitechnology. The Heptagram, recognizing this particular combination of interests, arranged to send him to Lookshy as part of their exchange program, back before the current unpleasantness broke out. Septus continued to study and excel, learning quite a bit while he was there, and returned to the Heptagram as a young savant well-trained in general magitechnological theory, as well as a good chunk of their understanding of magical theory.

The young Dynast never initiated as a Sorceror before graduating from the Heptagram, but instead chose to spend several seasons as a research and teaching assisstant there, taking shameless advantage of the Heptagram's libraries in his off-time. Still, once the Civil War broke out, things had to change. Duty to House and Realm called, and being a well raised Cathak, if a rather scholarly one, the young Dynast reported to his House for orders.  After a brief stint serving as a surgeon for the damaged Cathak and Mnemon troops on the Blessed Isle itself, he was given his marching orders and shipped to the Southern Theatre...

Resources And The Like

Cathak Septus has a rather nice number of perks going for him. His family lent him, rather permamently in some cases, some artifacts, namely a pair of jade bracers, once owned by his great-grandfather, and an ancient piece of biomagitek recovered by that worthy ancestor on one of his adventures. In addition, he's been entrusted with a rather nice Resplendent Satchel of Healing as a sign of his skills as a healer after graduating from the Heptagram.

He has a modest stipend, and has been entrusted with the Hearthstones of several Manses his family controls. These are a Stone of Healing, a Savant's Icy Eye, and a Jewel of the Maker's Hand. He can't use them all at te same time, of course, but swapping them out of his bracer's sockets isn't a big deal if he has the time to anticipate the upcoming situation.
